Hello, welcome. You’ve arrived at the home of Boston photographer Kate McElwee’s sweet and witty portrait photography. Known for her international award winning wedding photography, Kate also loves to photograph the wee beasties in your life – your kids and pets. Kate’s portrait style is candid, relaxed and fun, resulting in beautiful, silly images that capture your wee beasties doing what they do best … being themselves.
Kate photographs on-location – no stuffy studio portraits here! – and the very best place to start is at your home. A typical session lasts around an hour, and may involve crawling, clambering, belly-surfing and hiding in all sorts of nooks and crannies around your house and yard. Mixing candid documentary photography with meaningful interaction, Kate seeks to bring out the true personality of those she photographs; when you view your proofs she wants you to exclaim, “Wow! You really captured us for who we are!”
